Animal and Pet Sculpture

10 Thursdays, September 10 – November 12

Age Level: 16 and up

Experience Level: Intermediate and up

Have you always wanted to try sculpture? In this course, you will initially learn to quickly make small ceramic figures that capture dynamic poses of your favorite animal or pet. You will create freestanding, handmade pieces using sculptural techniques, including coil building, slab construction, and building solid forms to hollow out. Your instructor will demonstrate basic carving and working with sculpture tools. Expect to make one or two medium-sized (realistic or abstract) full or partial animal figures. All work must be less than 24” x 22”.

Please read our Studio Policies. If a class or workshop is sold out, you may request to be added to the waitlist.

Union Project is committed to being accessible to all. The building is wheelchair accessible via the side door on Stanton Avenue, and an accessible parking spot is located just outside that door. Service animals are always welcome, and ASL interpretation can be provided on request. Please let us know what accommodations we can make to ensure your experience is positive. Contact Alex Woodring at 412-363-4550×214 or alex@unionproject.org if you have specific accommodations or needs.
