Digging Through Deep Time: A Journey into Paleontology
Join Nicholas Hornicak, a dinosaur paleontologist, who will teach us what paleontologists do, from discovering fossils in the field to preparing them in the lab. He will also teach us how to identify fossils and what they tell us about ancient life on Earth.

About the speaker:
Nicholas Hornicak graduated with a B.S. degree in Geobiology from Penn State in 2023 and achieved his Master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2026. Nick is an active volunteer in the Paleolab at Carnegie Museum of Natural History, where he assists with dinosaur field research and fossil preparation.
