About
Original listingJoin Pittsburgh native, actor, author, and Mt. Lebanon High School graduate Joe Manganiello for a special live conversation at Mt. Lebanon Public Library as he returns home to share the deeply personal stories behind his latest book Bloodlines. This appearance brings Joe full circle to his boyhood library, where, at just six years old, he placed third in the library’s chess tournament—a fitting tip of the hat to a place that was part of his childhood and helped shape his early years. Now returning as an accomplished actor and author, Joe will offer an intimate and revealing look at the experiences that have reshaped his life and perspective, including a life-threatening health battle he kept hidden from the public, the lasting effects of intergenerational trauma, family relationships, and the personal challenges that tested his perseverance and sense of identity. Through candid storytelling, he explores the connections between inherited burdens, vulnerability, resilience, and the courage it takes to confront the past and begin to heal. This special hometown homecoming offers the audience a rare opportunity to hear Joe reflect on his extraordinary journey.
Our friends from City Books will be here to sell books, and Joe will be available to sign copies after the reading.
