Organized by the Pittsburgh Print Group and curated by Michaela Blanc and Hannah Turpin, Entanglement is the second exhibition in the three-part series Notes on Prints and Printmaking, which moves from what we take in to who and what we become intertwined with. The series takes its title from a 1973 founding document of the Pittsburgh Print Group. Returning to it now, the series comments on what that founding generation’s ideas about image-making still offer a contemporary, intergenerational group of artists. It finds that printmaking, a practice built on layering, pressure, and transfer, has always been a fitting language for how we are held, tangled, and altered by one another. Featuring work by Bethany Wells, Dan Nolting, Gina Judy, Leslie Golomb, Martyna Matusiak, Michelle Browne, Morgan Swartz, Sara Jean Ruiz, Stephanie Berrie, and Stephanie Oplinger.
