About
Original listingWinter Animals
Local wildlife survives our cold and snowy winters in fascinating ways. Some animals migrate to warmer climates, some hibernate through the season, and others brave the cold with remarkable adaptations. Discover how these amazing creatures make it through winter and thrive despite the challenges.
Did you know that South Park in Allegheny County features over 2,000 acres of parkland and approximately 17 miles of trails, ranging from paved accessible paths to wooded hiking trails?
Join us for a guided walk through some of South Park’s scenic trails as we learn about local winter wildlife and the unique strategies animals use to survive the season.
You may wish to bring a water bottle and a small lunch to enjoy after the hike.
Please register each attendee, including adults, as participation is limited and space is restricted to a set number of hikers.
Most importantly, dress for the weather and enjoy a fun winter adventure in nature! ❄️🦊🐿️🦉
