Always a perfect choice for October, The Crucible by Arthur Miller studies the witchcraft trials in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. Miller’s comparison to the McCarthy era of the 1950s has mesmerized and frightened generations of Americans. Join Connie Booth, a local retired English teacher, as we study the playwright's story and craft, while considering current and past controversies and its relevance in today’s world. We will discuss two acts during each of the first two sessions and watch the 1996 film starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Winona Ryder on Week 3. (Please register for each session)
